At Metro, we believe that a critical component to our spiritual formation is responding to the needs of the hurting. There are over 2,100 verses in the Bible where God calls His people to fight for the justice, be an advocate, and have compassion for the poor and oppressed. JAC helps the people at Metro to do just that. We do not do this out of a sense of noble obligation, but we do it out of a sense of reverence for Jesus Christ. In Matthew 25:40, He teaches us that whatever we do to the “least of these” we are “doing” unto him. Jesus Christ is among the least, the last, and the lost. When we at Metro visit the poor, oppressed and the marginalized, we go with the posture and expectation of encountering Jesus Himself.
